Change of font
Change of font
The first image is the original font that we used in the music video so in my ancillary texts (website and digipak) I changed the font to try and fit the genre more and use a similar font at the same time.

- The font I ended up using in the final product
List of fonts I was inspired by:
I had a complication with the fonts I wanted to use in the final product as I had to use the fonts given in Photoshop so I was limited. Even though I had limited font choices, the font I ended up using matches the ones I was inspired by but it was a bit bolder.

Production of the website
Production of the website
For the website I wanted to keep the idea of the slideshow to be the first thing the viewer sees. The slideshow will have pictures of the artist with the same clothing as it is in the music video - white hat and black jacket.
The colour theme for my website will be black and white as shots in the music video are black and white along with colour shots - this is the same for my digipak as well. I will also have some colour images on the website so the website doesn't look dull or plain.
The font on my website is slightly different to the font on my digipak because it it slimmer but I am going to make it bolder which is what most grime artists have their font as.

Digipak - Digital Edit (Production)
During the production process I had changed my idea from my flat plan which was a rough mock up of how I wanted my digipak to look like. I ended up changing the image on the back to suit the inside panels to show a clear link through all my ancillary texts and music video (the white hat, black jacket and location). I also changed the font from my flat plan because I felt like the font I used in the production process suited the grime genre much better.
I still kept the idea of having the front and back panels in black and white and the inside panels in colour with adjustments to the brightness and contrast to create a more a more dramatic effect.

Group post- decision making
Font style
As a group we have decided to change the font style. The font style on the ancillary task will be different from the font in the music video. This is because we have done extra research and came up with a conclusion that all three of us have different understandings in grime font styles, as we all have different perspectives to what the end result of the text should be. Therefore we are all doing different fonts from the music video. Which all are kind of similar due to how basic the fonts look, however we stand strong with our own ideas. We are aware that this will weaken the synergy, however we are sure to make other clear synergy links that the audience can easily relate to than the font style from our music video to the ancillary products, for example colour scheme and location. Which i think will be better synergy links as they are easier to recognise and point out compared to font styles. Therefore i think it is a good idea to change the font style into our own illustrations of grime.
Examples:
The reason why i have chosen that font style is because i have researched and analysed other grime videos predominantly female grime artist videos and came up with the conclusion that will best suit my ancillary products. For example:

Audience feedback on ancillary draft
Audience Feedback
I have asked my target/ wider audience to review my work and summarised what i need to do and don't do. For example:
What i done well on my digipak:
- Layout of my imaging: on the front and back panel
- My middle panel; Where the is no image of the artist, but an image of the location that we shot in for the music video
- Colour scheme that is consistent
- Use of synergy
- Too much Black and white in my work
- If the text/ font style suits the genre
Audience Feedback - Digipak
Audience Feedback
- Good use of colour - fits in from the music video and genre (grime)
- Like that the image on inside panels is a location
- Nice layout of text
- Like the text as it fits in with the genre
- Good use of synergy
Could improve:
- Add more colour
- There's no important information on the back panel (this will be added in the digital mockup)
Photoshop Tutorial
Photoshop Tutorial
Skills learnt:
- Resize images properly without the image getting squashed and stretched
- Cut out the person from the image
- Edit the image by adding finishing touches - erasing some of the background left behind the model
- Find the font and play around with it - overlay, glow, contour
Photoshop Tutorial
Skills learnt:
- Adding on effects on images, for example: dissolve, colour overlay
- Adding text
- Adding on effects on text, for example: outer glow, drop shadow
- Resizing image to fit into place as wanted, shift should be pressed in order to place image correctly
- Adding on image on top of background and cutting/ smoothing the image to fit into the background
Flat Plan 2- digipak (with colour)
Back and Front panels
Middle panel
Th artist signature is her white cap. Therefore in the digipak the cap will be coloured. The brand of the cap will also be coloured due to synergy with the cap. This will be on both the digipak and the website. I have decided to do this as i believe it will create a good link. This therefore means that it will be much easier for the audience to make the link with the ancillary tasks i have done. For the front panel i have chosen an image where the artist is at location one, verse one. This is because this is where the artist is first shown in the music video. This creates synergy with the music video making the link clear.
The middle panel does not have a picture of the artist. The middle panel has a wide shot of location one which is also shown on the front panel but with the artist, and it is also not as clear as the middle panel.
The main factors the back panel consists of is the artist, song list, producer, record label and links: social media. The colour theme will be consistent throughout the digipak, meaning the back will also be black and white. The back panel is inspired and influenced by Tupac's digipak cover. The layout is similar, with a picture of the artist on the right and the song list on the left.
Flat Plan 2 - with colour
Flat Plan 2 - with colour
The front front and back panel will be in black and white as I am keeping the black and white colour theme.
I am doing a mixture of black and white and colour images on the digipak because in the music video we have natural colour shots and then some shots edited in black and white.
