Formal feedback of rough cut
Majority of people liked are video, we had a few improvement points to make are piece even better and this included...
- Removing certain shots. The focus on some shots were to much on background objects as appose to the actual artists. This diverts the audience view to irrelevant objects as appose to the main attraction (the artist). Having objects in the back of a shot is fine, as long as the artist is in the center or doesn't distract the audiences point of view.

Other clips we are going to remove are the shots in which members of public pass through. We originally thought we should keep them in to give the music video a 'realistic' feel however it looked unprofessional when watching it and this was a point mentioned repeatedly in the feedback process.
- The last point that was made on what we should improve on is the artist singing being in time with the music. In some shots the music appeared faster than the artist, this made the video look fake and unprofessional. This can easily be rectified in the editing process.

Blogging Health Check 1 and 2
Blogging Health Check 1 and 2
Blogging Health Check 1:
- Try to use more ICT instead of just Emaze such as Padlet or Thinglink
- Remove repeated blogs of 4 and 8
- More analysis of the theories
I have improved by using more ICT like suggested and other ones that were on the handout given. I have also removed the repeated blog tasks.
Blogging Health Check 2:
- More detail on blog post 8
- On pitch task 1 there is a missing analysis of original music video
- On pitch task 15 there isn't evidence of a production schedule
- More energy and effort
I have improved by adding more detail to blog post 8 and analysing the original music video for the pitch task. I have also started to put more energy and effort into my work by making it more detailed and doing extra blog tasks at home.
Editing lesson (Gunes& Sureyya)
Editing for text on music video. This will appear on the first shot and the forth shots. The text colouring will be white due to relation with synergy. We decided to add text because we've seen this in many other grime videos. including AJ Tracey - Pasta and Giggs - Whippin Excursion. Which we think conjoins to our music video due to its tempo, rhythm and genre. We hope to make the music video as conventional as possible.
We have included the texts 'Queen speech 3' and 'Melody Rose'. To introduce the performer and the song in a more illustrative way to suit the genre.
While editing we also blogged. We blogged additional information of our music video. An example is applying the theory of Andrew Goodwin and Vernallis's theory to our music video. This is done to show that we have knowledge of music video theories and how to apply them.

Editing Ideas
Editing Ideas
Now that we have all the footage together, we are going to add in black and white effects into the all the base tracks throughout the video to keep up our black and white theme.
A female artist who uses the black and white effects in one of her videos is Paigey Cakey in her new song 'Boyfriend'. The effect comes up for a second and then goes back to colour which is what we want to do.
We also want the video to fade out into black screen like this video has done.

Text ideas to put over footage at the beginning:
I looked at grime videos (male and female) font/text type they use in their videos and it is all similar - blocked text that is usually black or white or both and appears over a moving image or black screen. I want to follow these ideas as they are typical for the grime genre and we are exploring grime.

Filming Day 5 (Gunes, Sureyya)
Filming in Barbican for verse one and the second chorus.
We decided to re-film verse one as we found a better location that will fit into our criteria: dark and gloomy area so we can project the artists personality that we try to portray. The lighting gives off a mysterious vibe which we consider to be a great opportunity for our music video as it will be aesthetically pleasing for the audience, which is our main goal. The lighting also sends off a sense of professional work. Another reason why location change is a good idea is because that is the only location that is indoors compared to the other locations for verse two and the chorus. For this reason we thought it would be a good contrast.
We had other ideas for the second chorus so therefore decided to film it. An example of this is the performer taking off her cap and bringing it towards the camera and turning the camera with the cap. You will see this shot in the ending of the second chorus. We thought this was a good idea because as shown before we'd like to show off the performer as an independent female and by doing this we are showing that she is taking control.
Rough Cut 2 (Sureyya, Gunes)
Rough Cut 2
This is the rough cut that is completed, however we still need to add in slow motion, black and white effects on selected shots and text when the chorus says 'mating'.

Filming Day 4 (Sureyya)
Filming Day 4
Filming of verse two:
Today was the day where we finished filming all shots throughout the music video. We have started editing and we are going to decide what shots to reshoot from the rough cut.
For verse two we took a lot of footage with many different types of shot types so we can make our video different from the original music video.

Filming Day 3 (Sureyya)
Filming Day 3
Filming of verse one, both choruses and location:
All of the shots shown below are still being filmed on the Barbican high walk. We have a variety of shots from close up to long shot of the performer, showing the costume and props from beginning to end.
The only shots left for us to film is the second verse. We already have footage for it, but we want to reshoot it as it didn't turn out how we wanted it to. The second verse will still be in the same location, near the fountains.
